Deconstructing Traditions

The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur continues its star-studded Guest Star Chef Series - the cities’ most sought after culinary calendar - with Thailand’s rising star and brightest culinary talent, Chef ThiTid (Ton) Tassanakajohn of Le Du, Bangkok for Mother’s Day weekend this May 10th – 12th at The Brasserie.

 

Trailblazing the culinary scene in Bangkok with two of the most exciting restaurants to hit the city, Chef Ton is the young genius behind Le Du, which translates to ‘season’ in Thai and listed #14 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants and a distinction in the Michelin Guide. Still in his 30s, Chef Ton trained at The Culinary Institute of America and honed his skills at the iconic Eleven Madison Park, The Modern and Jean-Georges Restaurants topping it all off as a certified Wine Sommelier from the Court of Master Sommelier’s in New York.

Sunday Jazz Brunch

Inspired by the daily markets in France, the Sunday Jazz Brunch at The Brasserie will emphasis on quality imported produce with an array of fresh seafood from Royal Alaskan King Crab’s and freshly shucked Fine de Claire oysters, to smoked and cured salmon that mimics ones found in a farmers market.

 

Other delights include heirloom tomatoes and creamy Burrata, a live station for Foie Gras and homemade pasta. The carving station will feature a fish and poultry dish on rotation and a la carte menu thoughtfully curated by the culinary team will also be featured every week. An assortment of imported cheeses from the cheese bar and mouth-watering desserts from our newly appointed Chef de Patisserie, Hassan Mohammed will satisfy any sweet tooth.

 

Keeping things alive as you dine and imbibe will be a live Jazz band jiving to beloved jazz greats like Count Basie and Duke Ellington who at the height of the Jazz Age, were guests at The St. Regis New York a rich musical legacy that inspired our Sunday Jazz Brunch.
